This weekend is Fall Break here at Clemson! I will be joining a group of 12 Juniors as they travel to Tuscaloosa to rebuild houses destroyed by the tornadoes last Spring with Habitat for Humanity. We leave in about an hour and will be arriving in Tuscaloosa sometime tonight. Trinity Presbyterian of Tuscaloosa will be our host church, graciously providing meals and a place for us to stay. Our group of students will specifically be working on a roof, so please pray for safety. This trip is entirely student led, and I am grateful that my students care enough about helping my home state to spend their break doing this kind of work! We will have a break on Sunday, and after going to Trinity Pres for morning worship, I am excited to go with my students to “Kentuck,” an awesome art festival in Northport, AL! There are few things that I better enjoy than a outdoor festival full or music and art, so I am excited to get to share this experience with my students!
Please be praying for safe travel, sweet fellowship amongst out group as well as with the folks at Trinity and in Alabama’s RUF (who we will be hanging out with Sunday night!), and a fun and safe experience with Habitat. Also, pray that opportunities would come up this weekend for me to minister to the upperclassmen and to encourage them to be leaders in RUF.
Also, I’d like to announce that, financially, I have met and exceeded the support that I need for the year!! This is incredible, and I thank God as well as you all who have prayed and given!
